PLANNING COMMISSION It was moved by Councilman Patterson, <br />REQUEST RE BUDGET seconded by Council Villa, to refer <br /> the letter from the Planning Commis- <br />sion requesting a $50,000 addition to the 1969-1970 Budget for Planning <br />Projects to the City Manager for a recommendation later in the year as <br />to the feasibility of the implernentation. The motion was adopted on. the <br />following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Patterson, Villa, Griset <br />Markel, Thurman <br />Brooks <br /> <br />FREEWAY Novel B. James, 2144 West Alona, <br /> requested thai Council take some <br /> action in opposition to the Orange <br />Freeway going through Santa Ana over the Santa Ana River. The City <br />Manager explained that no hearing were being held yet; that cities <br />involved were having a series of meetings with the State Division of <br />Highways' representative, Mr. A1 Koch, and that the State recommended <br />hiring an independent consultant at State expense to be selected by the <br />cities involved to represent them at the hearings; that it would take <br />two or three years of s~udy; and that the Staff would keep the Council <br />advised on the matter. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT At 10:18 P.
