PARKING METER REMOVAL Palmer Gillette, representing the <br />REQUEST -. PETITION Gillette Cafeteria, 208 North Broadway, <br /> presented a petition, containing approx- <br />imately fourteen signatures of business owners in the area, requesting the <br />removal of parking meters on Broadway between First and Fourth Streets. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by CounciLman Villa and <br />carried, the petition was ordered filed and referred to the Staff for <br />report back at the September 15 Council meeting. <br /> <br />SANTA ANA BOWL Janice Boer complained about the <br /> noise and lateness of the recent <br /> rock and roll concerts being held at <br />the Stadium, and the undesirable element they attract. <br /> <br />BRANCH LIBRARY NAME Assistant City Manager Bruce Spragg <br /> reported that the Library Board had <br /> recommended that the new branch <br />Library be named "McFadden Branch Library". <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br />unanimously carried, Council officially adopted the name "McFadden <br />Branch Library" as the name for the new branch Library to be constructed <br />on McFadden Avenue between Fairview and Sullivan Streets. <br /> <br />HUMAN RELATIONS Councilman Patterson announced the <br />FORMATION COMMITTEE following Human Relations Formation <br />MEETINGS Committee meetings: September 4, <br /> 7:30 P.M., Monte Vista School; <br />September 18, 7:30 P.M., Fremont School; October 9, 7:30 P.M., <br />Santiago School; and stated the public is invited:to all meetings. <br /> <br />RECESS At 4:40 P.M., the meeting was <br /> recessed to 7:30 P. M., at which <br /> time it reconvened with the following <br />Council members present: Wade Herrin, Walter Brooks, Vernon S. Evans, <br />J. Ogden Markel, Ray Villa, and Mayor Lorin Griset~ Councilman Jerry <br />Patterson was absent.
