OUTSIDE LIGHTING <br /> <br />and make a recommendation. <br /> <br />The Staff was requested to check the <br />outside parking area of the Church to <br />see if more lighting can be provided <br /> <br />COUNCIL MEETING PLACE A motion was made by Councilman <br /> Markel, seconded by Councilman <br /> Herrin, that the City Council move <br />back to the Council Chambers in the City Hall for Council meetings. After <br />some ~c~sion by Council and a statement by Janice Boer that the parking <br />was inadequate at the Church location, the motion failed adoption on the <br />following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />A BSE NT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Evans, Markel <br />Brooks, Patterson, Villa, Griset <br />None ' <br /> <br />MANAGER'S ABSENCE On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Patterson and <br />carried, the City Council approved and authorized the City Manager's <br />absence from the City for vacation purposes. Councilman Markel voted <br />"No". <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN'S ABSENCE On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Evans and <br /> carried, the City Council approved the <br />absence of Councilman Patterson from the evening session of theCouncil <br />meeting. <br /> <br />DELHI AREA Councilman Markel stated he was <br /> sorry he had been unable to attend <br /> the Human Relations Formation <br />Committee meeting which had been held at the Church in the Delhi <br />area on August 11, since he thought the area was in excellent cqndition <br />at the present time and he would have liked to remind the people at the <br />meeting of the improvements in that area during the past 15 years. <br /> <br />Councilman Villa responded, stating that we were living in accelerated <br />times; that what was true 15 years ago is not true today; that people are <br />more conscious of their rights and expect more services; and that a <br />Human Relations Commission can relate to the needs of the community <br />and the solutions the'Council and Staff can offer. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />-315- September 2, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
