will be encouraged to visit or call their Case Manager twice each month. In order <br />to insure that appropriate quality services are being provided to youth, Career <br />Prep staff will maintain regular communication with the Santa Ana W /O /R/K <br />Center Case Managers and refer all eligible WIA participants to the Santa Ana <br />W /O /R /K Center. In addition, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana will continue to <br />attend monthly WIA Youth Council meetings. <br />The involvement of parents will be established by providing them with a written <br />invitation to the Career Prep orientation and graduation celebrations. Parents <br />will be required to sign a permission slip for their child to participate. <br />Implementation of above services will be coordinated in the following manner: <br />Outreach /Recruitment/Eligibility Determination <br />The Career Prep Outreach Worker will recruit 120 Santa Ana in- school youth <br />ages 14 -18 from local traditional and alternative high schools and middle <br />schools. Outreach efforts will occur year -round and will include: program <br />presentations during school advisement periods, lunchtime recruitment, and <br />distribution of program flyers throughout the community. The Career Prep <br />program has an established rapport with school administrators and teachers — <br />from experience working with us in the past, teachers and school administrators <br />know the value of the Career Prep program for their students. The Outreach <br />Worker and Program Managers will collect initial eligibility documentation. This <br />documentation will be forwarded to the appropriate Santa Ana W /O /R/K Center <br />staff. <br />10 <br />
