FIRST WESTERN BANK Councilman Herrin reported that <br /> following his attendance at the <br /> opening of the First Western Bank <br />Orange County Regional office in Santa Ana, he had received a telegram <br />extending birthday greetings to the City. The telegram was accepted by <br />the Mayor, who instructed the Clerk to acknowledge it with appreciation, <br /> <br />PERSONNEL BOARD Mr. Joseph Holley, 1338 Shawnee <br />APPOINTMENT Drive, was appointed to the <br /> Personnel Board to replace <br />William Wenke for the term expiring June 30, 1970, on motion of Council- <br />man Markel, seconded by Councilman Herrin, and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />SOCCER GAMES Councilman Villa reported that all <br /> four Santa Ana Soccer teams had <br /> been victorious in their games <br />played on October 19, in the Santa Ana Stadium, as one of the Centennial <br />events. He requested and received Council permission to present a <br />trophy, donated by him, to the Santa Aha Olympic team at the next <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />CONFLICTS OF INTEREST Mayor recognized Mrs. Janice Boer <br />AB 325 who called the Council's attention to <br /> a new state law effective November <br />10, 1969, which requires that public officers and executive officers of <br />public agencies file a statement for public record describing the nature <br />and extent of their assets prior to the 15th of April each year. <br /> <br />The City Attorney was instructed to prepare a report clarifying the <br />requirements of the law. <br /> <br />RECESS At 5:15 P. M., the meeting was <br /> recessed to 7:30 P.M., at which <br /> time it was reconvened with all <br />Council members present. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend Bennie C. Flint of <br />the First Baptist Church. <br /> <br />CENTENNIAL WEEK <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />October 18, 1969 through October 25, <br />in the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Mayor Griset read aloud the <br />Proclamation of the City of Santa <br />Ana, designating the week of <br />1969 as Santa Ana Centennial Week <br /> <br />AWARD OF MERIT <br />PRE SENTA TION <br /> <br />conferred upon the architectural firm <br />design of the Fire Training Building. <br /> <br />Ralph G. Allen presented to Mayor <br />Griset an "Award of Merit" from <br />the American Institute of Architects <br />of Burrows, Allen & Knowles for the <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />-364 - <br /> <br />October 20, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
