PONY EXPRESS Mayor recognized Frank Benjamin, <br />RE-ENACTMENT who introduced Carol Carley, of the <br /> Hossienda Riders, who had re-enacted <br />the Pony Express route from Santa Aha to San Diego on October 18, as a <br />goodwill ambassador, delivering invitations to our Centennial Pageant to <br />dignitaries along the route. Mr. Carley presented to the Council a special <br />proclamation from the City of San Diego to the City of Santa Aha, which <br />Mayor Griset read aloud. Mr. Carley explained that more than one hundred <br />people had contributed their services for more than a month planning this <br />ride, which involved thirty horses and thirty saddles, and a ride of 121 miles. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING Hearing was opened on proposed <br />ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS amendments to Part 5 of the Zoning <br />VA'S, CUP'S & MINOR EXCEPTIONS Ordinance pertaining to Conditional <br /> Use Permits, Variances and Amend- <br />ments, and the establishment of a procedure for filing Minor Exceptions, <br />initiated by the Planning Commission. There being no response to the <br />call for testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrino seconded by Councilman Patterson, <br />Council approced the proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendments and ' <br />instructed the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance to amend Part 5 of <br />the Zoning Ordinance concerning Conditional Use Permits, Variances and <br />Amendments, and the establishment of a procedure for filing Minor <br />Exceptions, on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Brooks, Evans, Markel, Patterson, Villa, <br />Griset <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING Hearing was opened on proposed <br />ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS amendments to Section 9230, 9230.40 <br />LOT SIZE and 9230.60 of the Zoning Ordinance, <br /> to permit one dwelling unit for each <br />6,000 square feet of lot area in the A1 and R 1 Districts and one dwelling <br />unit for each 3,000 square feet of lot area in the R 2 District when the <br />lots have 1/2 acre or less.
