Crossing Guard <br />Request (continued) <br /> <br />Mrs. Carlos Martinez and Mrs. Betty Gonzales expressed the opinion that <br />a crossing guard is needed at the intersection immediately since the <br />small five year olds do not understand the signal light. R. J. Christenson, <br />2115 N. Greenbrier, also spoke. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Brooks, seconded by Councilman Villa, to place <br />an emergency crossing guard at the intersection until Council can determine <br />whether the warrants are met for a guard at this corner. The motion was <br />adopted on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Brooks, Evans, Markel, Villa <br />Herrin, Patterson, Griset <br />None <br /> <br />After further discussion, on motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by <br />Councilman Herrin, it was directed that the Council initiate a letter to <br />the Board of Education, requesting they meet with the City Council to <br />discuss their mutual problems, itemizing as the first point of business, <br />school crossing guards.
