ASSESSMENT ~4r. Robert Newco~ab, speaking on Behalf of <br />DISTRICT 236 the City Center Association representing a <br /> group of property owners on Fourth Street, <br /> expressed appreciation to the City Coumcil <br />and the City Staff for their assistamce in gettimg the district estab- <br />lished. In response to a question by Councilman Villa, Mr. Newc~ab stated <br />that the property owners from Spurgeon to French had not indicated their <br />interest im going into this project, alth~ they had been invited and <br />several had attended a meeting recently held for review of the plans. <br /> <br />The Public Works Director displayed the plans and specifications and <br />explained the various phases of the project, including tree planting in <br />the tree wells in the sidewalk area back of the curb, resurfacing of <br />sidewalks with. a color harmonized textured finish, the street lighting, <br />benches and waste containers of precast comcrete, and an automatic <br />irrigation system. He further explained the cost of the project was <br />estimated at $360,000, or a little fmore than $100.00 per front foot, but <br />that the City has budgeted a portion of this in the Street Lighting Budget <br />so that the cost to the property owners would be under $100 per front foot, <br />estimated.
