D. 236 B]~)S, ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 236, SANTA <br /> ANA, CALIFORNIA was adopted on motion of <br />Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Evans on the following roll <br />call vote; <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Brooks, Evans, Patterson, Villa, Griset <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />ORD NS-991 <br />JUNK AND AUTO <br />SALVAGE YAI~DS <br /> <br />Council considered ORDINANCE NS-991 AMEND- <br />ING THE SA~A ANA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING <br />SECTION 9260.9 TO PART 6, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE <br />IX '£H~tgOF PERTAINING TO NON-CONFORMING JUNK <br /> <br />Mr. Joe Solomon, Anaheim Auto Salvage Company, 4526 West 5th, Santa Ama, <br />stated that he neither opposed nor favored the proposed ordinance; that he <br />wanted to bring to the Council's attention the fact that on two separate <br />occasions he had applied for a Variance to make improvements; that many of <br />the area residents had opposed granting of these Variances; and that both <br />requests had been denied. He further stated that it would not be econ- <br />omically feasible for him to make the improvememts required by the Ordinance <br />because of the large size of the yard; and that he estimated the cost would <br />be between $25,000 - $30,000. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Villa, to <br />pass Ordinance NS-991 to second reading. <br /> <br />Councilman Markel made a motion to amend the above motion to pass Ordinance <br />NS-991 to second reading with the stipulation that the words "six months" <br />im Section 9260.9 (e) be chamged to "one and one'half years" regarding the <br />time limit to conform to the provisions of the ordinance, which motion died for <br />lack of a second.
