Benchmark Technical Specialties <br />Computer & Networking Services Category <br /> <br />Computer System Engineer, <br />Unisys V-series Mainframe <br /> <br />Duties <br /> <br /> Education/Certification <br />Work Experience/Skills/Knowledge/Abilities <br /> <br />Other <br /> <br />· Manage Unisys V-Series and LX5100 operating <br /> configuration, system libraries, etc. <br />· Troubleshoot terminal, line and configuration problems <br /> on both the Unisys V-Series and LX5100 using both <br /> ODT commands and system utilities. <br />· Use TCL compiler on the V-Series and NAU editor on <br /> the EX5100 to add or delete terminals, lines and <br /> connection groups. <br />· Use system utilities on the V-Series and LX5100 to <br /> configure the operating systems and perform <br /> warmstarts and coldstarts. <br />· Use system utilities to monitor DMS II database <br /> performance on the V-Series including statistics and <br /> census data. <br />· Use the DASDL compiler on the V-Series to <br /> reconfigure and recompile the DMS II databases. <br />· Maintain the CANDE user data file for authorized <br /> terminals and users on the V-Series system. <br />· Maintain the CTC-Bridge Filesweep programs on the <br /> V-Series and make changes to the COBOL source, <br /> when necessary. <br />· Use the WFL compiler to generate batch-processing <br /> jobs on the V-Series. <br />· Troubleshoot configuration problems on the U-6065 <br /> Unix midframe as well as nCR modifications. <br />· Develop and manage the monthly schedule of batch <br /> processing for production systems. <br /> <br />Unisys training courses highly desirable. <br /> <br />· Minimum 3 years of system engineering of Unisys V- <br /> series computer equipment in a production computer <br /> center environment. <br />· Must be able to operate reel tape and DAT units. <br /> <br />· Minimum 15 Net WPM. <br />· Position may require shift work on an as needed basis <br />· Manual dexterity to manipulate electronic devices, <br /> computers and keyboards. <br />· Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 <br /> pounds. <br />· Ability to read printed documentation/computer <br /> screens. <br />· Ability to recognize and respond to alarm sounds and <br /> equipment generated signals. <br /> <br />November 2001 45 <br /> <br /> <br />
