. . Proposal The YMCA of Orange County proposes to work collaboratively with the City of Santa Ana to provide a day camp program at Santiago Park for the community of Santa Ana. The program would be available to campers of all ages, pre-school through high school. The day camp would operate Monday through Friday for ten consecutive weeks, beginning June 21, 2004. Day camp hours would be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with pre and post camp available from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pre- school campers would have a half day program. The day camp would utilize Santiago Park's natural setting as a backdrop for program activities. Occasionally campers would also participate in off-site field trips. The YMCA of Orange County would provide the program and operate all aspects of the activities. The City of Santa Ana would provide the facilities and pre-scheduled program support. American Camping Association Accreditation As part of our commitment to quality programs, all YMCA of Orange County camps are accredited by the American Camping Association. This nationally recognized program focuses on program quality and health and safety. Accreditation requires our camps to review every facet of their program operation and then voluntarily submit to an independent appraisal conducted by camp experts. The YMCA of Orange County has a long history of operating ACA Accredited camps. All of our programs have proudly earned this mark of distinction.
