<br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-036 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTIONS NO. 2001-065 <br />AND NO. 2003-070 TO PROVIDE FOR CONTINUATION <br />OF ADDITIONAL PARTIALLY-PAID TEMPORARY <br />MILITARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES <br />CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY WITH THE ARMED FORCES <br />AND CONTINUATION OF BENEFITS FOR THEIR <br />DEPENDENTS <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SAdion 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />On October 1, 2001, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana adopted <br />Resolution No. 2001-065 providing for an additional partially paid military <br />leave of absence for each full-time officer or employee of the City who has <br />been or will be called to active military service with the Armed Forces of <br />the United States in connection with the then current military crisis. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />On August 18, 2003, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2003-070, <br />which amended Resolution No. 2001-065, extending continuation of these <br />benefits for Fiscal Year 2003-2004. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />The pay and benefits authorized by said Resolution No. 2001-065, as <br />amended by Resolution No. 2003-070, will terminate on June 30, 2004, <br />unless extended by further action of the City Councilor otherwise required <br />bylaw. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />The City Council wishes to continue to help City employees and their <br />families with financial hardships resulting from being called to active duty in <br />connection with the current military crisis. <br /> <br />SAction ? That Section 5 of Resolution No. 2001-065, as amended, is further <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />"SAction 5. This resolution, and the pay and benefits authorized herein, <br />shall be effective throughout the entirety of Fiscal Year 2004-2005, but shall <br />terminate and be of no further force or effect on midnight, June 30, 2005, <br />unless extended by further action of the City Councilor otherwise required <br />bylaw". <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2004-036 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
