I <br />QI1.: 1f. /!.- oz,- <br />. ~(1()~.-:-Q:ZrL__. -- <br />ç!1J¿,'i)- I'D-C::'o - <br />it....- ':¡'OO-'{~~ ~{;.~~= <br />OS-I'} - oJ.¡ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />bk.9/25/01 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2001-065 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA FOR ADDITIONAL TEMPORARY PARTIALLY <br />PAID MILITARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR CITY <br />EMPLOYEES CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY WITH THE <br />ARMED FORCES AND CONTINUATION OF BENEFITS <br />FOR THEIR DEPENDENTS <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />Section 9-144 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code grants a fully paid leave of <br />absence and continuation of benefits for employees who are ordered to <br />report to duty up to a maximum of thirty (30) days per calendar year. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />However, the normal tour of duty to which a reservist may be ordered to <br />serve, without congressional action, is six (6) consecutive months. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />A number of City employees have been and may be in the future be called <br />into active military service in connection with the current military crisis. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />The City Council of wishes to alleviate financial hardships which employees <br />and their families will experience as a result of being called into active duty. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br />Military Service. <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Partial Pay for City Officers and Employees On Long-Term Active <br /> <br />In addition to the fully paid military leave provided by Section 9-144 of the <br />Code, each full-time officer or employee of the City who has already been <br />or will be called to active military service with the Armed Forces of the <br />United States in connection with the current military crisis shall be entitled to <br />military leave with partial pay for the period of his or her absence from City <br />employment while on military service in excess of the period covered by <br />Section 9-144. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />The amount of pay that each such employee shall be entitled to receive <br />from the City for the employee's additional period of military leave shall be <br />the difference between the gross pay and allowances actually received by <br />the officer or employee from the United States for such service and the <br />gross wages that said employee would have received from the City of <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-065 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
