Adopt a resolution declaring the City's <br />of the Sycamore Street sidewalk easement <br />Street. <br /> <br />intent to abandon a portion <br />from Second Street to Third <br /> <br />82. <br /> <br />Set a public hearing for August 2, 2004. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution declaring its intent <br />to vacate a portion of a sidewalk along the east side of Sycamore Street <br />from Second Street to Third Street by a unanimous vote of 7: 0 at the <br />meeting of June 14, 2004. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Olson Company has been working with the City's Community Development <br />Agency to complete the Sycamore Street Lofts live/work proj ect. To <br />implement the project, the Olson Company has requested that the City <br />vacate a 5.17-foot wide portion of the Sycamore Street sidewalk between <br />Second and Third Streets (Exhibit 1). The area to be vacated is within <br />the existing Sycamore easterly sidewalk. <br /> <br />Sycamore Street will be narrowed by 5.17 feet, on-street parking along <br />the east side of the street will be eliminated, and street lighting and <br />trees will be relocated accordingly. The east curb and sidewalk will be <br />reconstructed so that the curb aligns with the corresponding Sycamore <br />Street curb between First Street and Second Street. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />12A-1 <br />
