These agreements are needed to allow Metrolink to
efficiently coordinate construction activity within the railroad right-of
way and reduce overall project costs.

The first agreement is for construction of a new passenger boarding
platform with pedestrian bridge access to The Depot. Staff and Metrolink
have been working cooperatively to produce a design that is
architecturally compatible with the existing train station and
functionally serves the needs of the station patrons. The project scope
includes removal of the existing center platform and construction of a
new second platform on the east side of the tracks. A new pedestrian
bridge accessible from the station building and plaza will be constructed
to provide access to the new platform. The project is fully funded by
8Metrolink through a $5.6 million State grant. There is no City funding
required for this project.

25J-1
