(2) that the Council also review the function of the Traffic Safety <br /> Committee; and <br /> <br />(3) that if the School Board requested a crossing guard at a location <br /> that did not meet the warrants, the Board should be prepared to <br /> share the costs. <br /> <br />Mr. Montejano stated that the Board would evaluate its policy regarding <br />school patrols; but that he believes the Board would be against them because <br />of school time loss; that in his opinion the problem will be resolved; that the <br />Board was primarily interested in equal application of a policy; that at present <br />Sierra, Santiago and Roosevelt Schools do not meet the warrants but Sierra <br />and Santiago have crossing guards and Roosevelt does not. <br /> <br />F~EMONT SCHOOL In response to a question from Mr. Berry <br /> concerning installation of curbing and <br /> sidewalks on the south side of Fremont <br />School, Mr. Thornton stated that according to City Ordinance it would be the <br />responsibility of the School Board to provide them. <br /> <br />Mr. Berry stated that he would recommend that next year's Board budget <br />provide for this work. <br /> <br />JOINT RECREATIONAL USE Councilman Patterson stated that the City <br />OF SCHOOL FACILITIES would like to expand the program for the <br /> joint use of school facilities for City <br />recreational programs as much as possible. He also asked if the Board was <br />considering another Bond election in the near future. <br /> <br />Mr. Montejano stated that the District would approve almost anything in terms <br />of using its facilities. <br /> <br />Mr. Kenney agreed and suggested that the City Administration discuss the <br />specifics with him. <br /> <br />McFADDEN SCHOOL BUILDING In response to Councilman Markel's <br /> question, Mr, Montejano stated that <br /> .the School Board was not financially <br />able at present to move the McFadden school building from itc site; and that <br />the possibilities of leasing it were nil because of the renovating costs involved. <br /> <br />SCHOOL BOND ELECTION Mr, Montejano stated that he did not <br /> think the District would call another <br /> Bond Election; that there was a slight <br />possibility of a small tax override to meet immediate building problems; but <br />this would depend on full board support. <br /> <br />A DJOURNME NT <br /> <br />declared the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />At 9:30 P, M., there being no further <br />business to come before the City <br />Council and School Board, the Chairman <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Florence I.
