MAYOR'S ABSENCE On motion of Councilman I-Ierrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Markel and <br /> unanimously carried, Mayor Griset <br />was granted permission to be out of the country during the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />PARKING METERS Councilman Evans requested informa- <br />LIGHTING tion on the parking meter removal <br /> survey on Fourth Street, stating that <br />if this has shown a gain to the merchants, he would like to see the meters <br />removed from Broadway and some other streets. He also requested infor- <br />mation on the cost of improved street lighting and stated he would like to have <br />some consideration given to the possibility of using Parking Meter Funds to <br />improve the street lighting in some portions of the City and would like to know <br />how much was being expended in the Downtown Assessment District for the <br />street lighting. The City Manager explained that the report and recommen- <br />dation on the parking meter removal survey would be on the agenda for the <br />March 16 Council meeting and that staff would prepare a report on the cost <br />of street lighting for presentation at the April 6 Council meeting. <br /> <br />DEED, NO CASH - On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />CITY, GRANTEE seconded by Councilman Patterson <br /> and unanimously carried, the Mayor <br />was authorized to accept a No Cash Deed executed by C.
