RES. 70-54 RESOLUTION 70-54 GRANTING APPROVAL <br />RECORD DESTRUCTION FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN <br /> MICROFILMED CITY RECORDS was <br />adopted, on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto and <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />AHFP PROGRAM On motion of Councilman Patterson, <br /> seconded by Councilman Herrin, Council <br /> authorized execution of Agreement with <br />the County of Orange for Arterial Highway Financing Program, 1970-71 - Project <br />#546, First Street, on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Evans, Patterson, Villa, Yamamoto, Griset <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Markel and unanimously <br />carried, Council authorized execution of Agreement with the County of Orange <br />for Arterial Highway Financing Program, 1970-71 - Project #574, Seventeenth Street. <br /> <br />CHANGE ORDERS <br /> <br />Change Orders: <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br />by Councilman Yamamoto and unanimously <br />carried, Council approved the following <br /> <br />No. 2 to contract with B.H. Miller Company for Project 7008, <br />McFadden Branch Library, increasing in the amount of <br />$299.49. <br /> <br />No. 3 to contract with B.H. Miller Company for Project 7008, <br />McFadden Branch Library, increasing in the amount of $611.87. <br /> <br />ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE <br />LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br /> <br />The following Alcoholic Beverage <br />License Applications were considered: <br /> <br />International Sandwich Shop, 402 W. 17th, New On Sale Beer; <br />Von's, 1800 N. Grand, Off Sale General, Person Transfer; <br />Nitty Gritty, 1521 N. Harper, On Sale Beer, Person Transfer; <br />Stake Out, 2317 W. 1st, New On Sale Beer; <br />The Dugout, 2534 W. Westminster, On Sale Beer, Person Transfer; <br />Arredondo, Jimenez, Pacheco, 801 E. 4th, New On Sale Beer; <br />Nutberger, 2727 W. Edinger, New On Sale Beer. <br /> <br />Mayor Griset announced that letters of protest from residents and merchants <br />in the area and a petition containing approximately 42 signatures had been <br />received in regard to the application of Minnie Arredondo, Eliseo Jimenez <br />and Alex Pacheco for a New On Sale Beer License at 801 East 4th Street. <br /> <br />The following persons spoke in protest to issuing the license: B.W. Dowander, <br />315 N. Lacy; Norman Knng, owner of Kong's Market, 719 East 4th Street; <br />Herman Scott, manager of the Karo Hotel, 805 East 4th Street; Walter Gibbs, <br />317 N. Lacy. They stressed the noise factor, the heavy concentration of bars <br />in the area, traffic problems, parking, fights, children having to pass by these <br />bars at all times; stating all of these problems are present now and the addition <br />of another bar in the neighborhood would compound the present problems. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -147- June 1, 1970 <br /> <br /> <br />
