The City Attorney cited the various bases under which Council could file a <br />protest to the issuance of an alcoholic I~everage license. <br /> <br />After discussion by Council, it was moved by Councilman Herrin, seconded <br />by Councilman Evans, to file a protest with the Alcoholic Beverage Control <br />Board on the application of Minnie Arredondo, Eliseo Jimenez and Alex Pacheco <br />for a New On Sale Beer License at 801 East 4th Street, based on the fact <br />that the subject premises are in a residential area and also that there is an <br />undue concentration of licenses in the area; and that the other applications <br />be ordered filed. The motion was adopted on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Evans, Market, Griset <br />Patterson, Villa, Yamamoto <br />None <br /> <br />ACCOUNTANTS' REPORT On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Patterson <br /> and unanimously carried, the <br />Accountants' Report filed by Diehl, Evans and Company, independent auditors, <br />for the nine months ended March 31, 1970 was ordered filed. <br /> <br />Councilman Patterson suggested that Council consider selection of a different <br />accountants' firm every five years for the City's audits. <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />present. <br /> <br />At 4:20 P. M., a five minute recess <br />was declared. The Council reconvened <br />at 4:40 P. M., with all Council members <br /> <br />VARIANCE AND CONDITIONAL On motion of Councilman Patterson, <br />USE PERMIT seconded by Councilman Villa and <br /> unanimously carried, Council adopted <br />the findings of fact, conclusions and decisions of the Planning Commission or <br />Zoning Administrator as action of the City Council on the following: <br /> <br />VA 70-21, PETROLANE, INC. - waive the offstreet parking <br />requirements and permit less than four acre parcels in the <br />C 4 District at 1208-24 E. McFadden - APPROVED; <br /> <br />VA 70-22, STILLWELL - Construct a room addition between a <br />single family dwelling and a garage that will create a 2' rear <br />yard in the R 1 District at 1606 Lingan Lane - APPROVED. <br /> <br />TRAFFIC On mi)tion :~f Councilman Herrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Patterson, <br /> the report of control devices removed <br />or installed May 12, 1970 through May 19, 1970, was ordered filed, on the following <br /> <br />roll call vote: <br /> <br /> AYES: Herrin, Evans, <br /> NOt~S: Markel <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PARCEL MAP 648 <br /> <br />Patterson, Villa, Yamamoto, Griset <br /> <br />Parcel Map 648, filed by Ellis W. Stanley, <br />creating two (2) C 2 parcels southeast of <br />the intersection of 17th Street and Lincoln <br /> <br />Avenue on a private 30 foot easement, was approved subject to donditions in Planning <br />Director's report dated May 21, 1970, on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by <br />Councilman Markel and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -148- June 1, 1970 <br /> <br /> <br />
