WITH SAME MEMBERS PRESENT <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Jose Soto addressed the Council relative to projects underway in Madison <br />Park; Connie Major urged the Council not to vote for One Broadway Plaza <br />project; Pat McGuigan asked the Council to consider televising all Council <br />meetings; Thomas Childress and Bill Pevohuse expressed concerns <br />relative to the proposed America's Tire Store on East Seventeenth Street; <br />Alma Ramirez and James Robert Reade addressed general concerns; <br />James Kendrick invited the Council and residents to the annual Wilshire <br />Square Summer Concert on July 31, 2004; Dee Runnels suggested that <br />the City not sell fireworks for the 4th of July <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Council member Garcia <br />. Thanked the Public Works Agency for the recent road work on <br />Newhope <br />. Thanked University of California, Irvine (UCI) for assisting him in <br />providing a tour of the Computer Science and Biology departments for <br />the Achievement Institute for Scientific Studies <br /> <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />. Asked staff to aggressively address the issue of miniature motorbikes <br />and determine if these vehicles are licensed to be on the streets; he <br />further noted that these bikes are unsafe and extremely noisy <br />. Invited residents to come to the grand opening of the Crean Family <br />Farm at the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park on Saturday, July 17, <br />2004 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />. Wished John Reekstin good luck in his new endeavors at the Olsen <br />Company <br />. Congratulated Pat Whitaker on her appointment as the Executive <br />Director, Community Development Agency and congratulated Gerardo <br />Mouet on his appointment as the Executive Director, Parks, <br />Recreation and Community Services <br />.
