MOTORCYCLE RIDING AND A letter dated March 11, 1971, from <br />DRAG RACING V~. Drexel Daniels, President~ <br /> Segerstrom Republic Homeowners, <br />Inc., pertaining to motorcycle riding on unimproved private property located <br />west of the Orange County Flood Control Channel and south of Segerstrom <br />Avenue, was pres. anted to the-Council. Drexel Daniels, 2905 South Pacific, <br />stated that this matter has grown to be an extreme nuisance with sometimes <br />30 - 50 motorcyclists riding in this area and creating a noise problem for <br />surrounding homes. The Homeowners are requesting Council to take <br />corrective action, such as a restrictive ordinance. In response to a question <br />by the Mayor, Mr. V~ithers stated that he has spoken with police officers on <br />this matter; that it has been a problem in other areas as well, and that the <br />possibility of a corrective ordinance~ahould be considered. On motion of <br />Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Evans, and unanimously <br />carried, the City Attorney was directed to investigate the problem of <br />motorcycle riding in the City, and to keep Mr. Daniels informed, the Police <br />Department to be furnished with a copy of Mr. Daniels' letter so that they can <br />take temporary restraining action. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at <br />8:40 P.M.~ on motion of Councilman <br />Villa, seconded by Councilman Evans <br /> <br />Florence I.
