VARIANCES AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS - (Continued) <br /> <br />EX 71-6, FAR WEST FAIRHAVEN, LTD. - To <br />allow less than the required 50% open space for <br />a garden apartment development in the R 4 District <br />at 1275 E. Fairhaven Avenue; APPROVED. <br /> <br />PACIFIC OUTDOOR Letter dated June 29, 1971, <br />ADVERTISING BILLBOARD from Herbert A. Moss, <br /> Attorney, protesting issuance <br />of a permit to relocate an existing billboard, and requesting <br />revocation thereof, was referred to staff for a report later in this <br />meeting, on motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by Council- <br />man Markel, and carried on a 5 - 1 vote, Councilman Evans dissenting. <br />This was a substitute motion, in lieu of Councilman Villa's motion, <br />seconded by Councilman Evans, to refer to staff. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY ACTION COUNCIL Councilman Villa's motion, <br /> seconded by Councilman Evans, <br /> to authorize the Mayor to <br />appoint a representative to the Community Action Council Board of <br />Directors for the Fiscal Year 1971 - 72, was amended at the request <br />of Councilman Patterson with the consent of Councilmen Villa and <br />Evans, to have the Council appoint a representative and an alternate <br />to the CAC Board of Directors before the next regular meeting. The <br />motion carried on a 5 - 1 vote, Councilman Markel voting NO. <br /> <br />WILLOWICK GOLF COURSE Council considered the staff <br /> report dated June 29, 1971, <br /> regarding the proposed de- <br />annexation of Willowick Golf Course, requested by t~e City of Garden <br />Grove at the Council Meeting of April 19, 1971. <br /> <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Villa and seconded <br />by Councilman Markel that the City consider the purchase of Willowick <br />Golf Course as well as the three parcels adjacent to it from the City of <br />Garden Grove and that the matter be set for public hearing. The motion <br />failed on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Villa, Markel, Patterson <br />Evans, Herrin, Yamamoto <br />Griset <br /> <br />Councilman Patterson's motion, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, <br />to approve the de-annexation of Willowick Golf Course from the City <br />providing Garden Grove agrees to the conditions set forth in the staff <br />report, failed on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Patterson, Yamamoto <br />Villa, Evans, Herrin, Markel <br />Griset <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -226- July 6, 1971 <br /> <br /> <br />
