WlLLOWlCK GOLF COURSE - (Continued) <br /> <br />Councilman Evans' rr~tion, seconded by Councilman Villa to set <br />for public hearing on August 2, the consideration of the purchase <br />or de-annexation of Willowick Golf Course, failed on the following <br />roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Villa, Markel <br />Evans, Herrin, Yamamoto, Patterson <br />G riser <br /> <br />Councilman Patterson's motion, seconded by Councilman Evans, to <br />refer the matter of financing the purchase of Willowick Golf Course <br />to the staff for further study and report to the Council at its next <br />meeting, if possible, carried on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Patterson, Evans, <br />NOES: Herrin <br />ABSENT: Griset <br /> <br />Villa, <br /> <br />Yamamoto, Markel <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />with the same Councilmen present. <br /> <br />At 3:05 P. M., a five-minute <br />recess was declared. The <br />Council reconvened at 3:15 P. M., <br /> <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />until the Mayor's arrival. <br /> <br />It was the consensus to continue <br />with the afternoon Agenda items <br />and to delay the Executive Session <br /> <br />PARKING METERS Staff presented a report on the <br /> removal of all on-street parking <br /> meters. Councilman Evans <br />moved, and Councilman Villa seconded, that the parking meter removal <br />be continued for another year, but that the posts remain, and to increase <br />the parking fine from $1.00 to $2.00. After further discussion, Council- <br />man Evans requested, with Councilman Villa's concurrence, that the <br />motion be amended to increase the parking fine from $1.00 to $3.00. <br />Motion carried on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Evans, Villa, Herrin, Yamamoto, Patterson <br />NOES: Markel <br />ABSENT: Griset <br /> <br />Councilman Markel stated that he is not in favor of parking meters, and <br />that the parking fine should be no more than $2.00. <br /> <br />Councilman Patterson's motion to increase the parking fine to $5.00 failed <br />for lack of a second. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />-227- July 6, 1971 <br /> <br /> <br />
