SOUTH COMMUNITY PLAN STUDY - (Continued) <br /> <br />Community Plan, stating that Staff believes there is a very real problem <br />of land use in this area; that Planning and Engineering will proceed with <br />more precise design standards and criteria. Discussion concerned <br />present zoning in the area and projected population if more variances are <br />granted; that there is a two-year time limitation for commencing work under <br />variances previously granted; and that there are additional land use studies <br />under way for this area; and in the meantime, great restraint should be <br />used by both the Planning Commission and the City Council in granting any <br />further changes. <br /> <br />It was the Council consensus that Alternative 2 of the Report represented the <br />best approach. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Villa, seconded by Councilman Herrin, and <br />unanimously carried to refer the Report to the Planning Commission for <br />its consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 5:15 P.M., Council recessed <br /> to an Executive Session on motion <br /> of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br />by Councilman Markel and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />At 5:40 P.M., on motion of Council- <br />man Herrin, seconded by Council- <br />man Markel and unanimously <br /> <br />Florence I.
