NO. 04-101) <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />á <br />' I <br />; <br />t2 ~j/Z <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />- - <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Coastline Equipment, under the Cooperative Purchase <br />Provision of Los Angeles County, for the purchase of a John Deere <br />Tractor Backhoe Loader in the amount not to exceed $ 7 7 , 950 . 07 ¡and <br />establish an additional $10,000 on the annual blanket contract. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program <br />is included in the City's annual budget, and identifies vehicles <br />scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. <br /> <br />The Public Works Agency's Water/Sewer Maintenance Division has been <br />charged with repairing and installing new sewer lines that facilitate <br />the 46,000 sewer services within the City. Due to its age, worn <br />condition and engine hours, a 1993 John Deere 510 backhoe has been <br />budgeted and approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to purchase <br />against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid <br />process. The Los Angeles County contract with Coastline Equipment for <br />a John Deere tractor backhoe loader was awarded as a result of open, <br />competitive bidding, and meets the City's requirements. <br /> <br />221-1 <br /> <br />CS. 383 <br />
