BID AWARD (Continued) <br /> <br />Prior to voting on the motion, Mr. Chuck Perry, representing Harrison, <br />Zeppegno, and Bristol, introduced Mr. Ed Cahi11, President of Gulf <br />Insurance Company, owner of the Insurance Company of the Pacific Coast. <br />Mr. Cahill stated that the Insurance Company of the Pacific Coast is a new <br />company but that it has an A. /VI. Best Company rating of A - Excellent, <br />and a financial rating of iA; and that its personnel are well qualified to <br />handle public- entity business . <br /> <br />The material distributed by Mr. Jack Smith was received and filed on <br />Councilman Herrin's motion, seconded by Councilman Patterson, and <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />PROJECT 6051 Councilman Markel stated that he <br /> had no personal interest in this <br /> item, and only the name of the iow <br />bidder was the same. On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Council- <br />man Yamamoto, and unanimously carried, Council awarded,~the following <br />contract in accordance with the Summary of Bid reports submitted: <br /> <br />PROJECT 605l - Construct sidewalk in Santa Anita <br />and Sandpointe Parks. <br /> <br />TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP #741 Cotmcilman Evans stated that had <br /> he been present at the time <br /> Tentative Parcel Map #741 was <br />considered, he would have voted in opposition to the motion to approve the <br />map subject to conditions contained in Planning Director's report and to <br />waive the alley requirement. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Yama- <br /> moro, and unanimously carried, <br />Council approved the following agreement and authorized its execution by <br />the Mayor and Clerk: <br /> <br />SWIMMING POOL AGREEMENT - Between the City <br />and Rancho Santiago Community College District for <br />joint use of swimming pool at Santa Aha College. <br /> <br />ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />LICENSE APPLICATIONS seconded by Councilman Evans <br /> and Councilman Yamamoto voting <br />NO, the following applications were received and ordered filed: <br /> <br />CHAVEZ, ROBERT M., 2Z0 E. Third Street, On Sale <br />Beer, Person to Person Transfer; <br />WEATHERS, ERNEST F. AND MARY J., 2601W. <br />Edinger Avenue, On Sale Beer, Person to Person <br />Transfer; <br />VINCE'S NATIONAL CORPORATION, 605 S.
