VAKIANCES AND CONDITIONAL In response to questions from Council, <br />USE PERMITS AND MINOR Planning Director stated that Variance <br />EXCEPTIONS Application 72-45 is for construction of <br /> 29 three and four bedroom units of a <br />total of 39 units, which wot%ld allow a density of approximately 13 units per acre, <br />and that staff recommended denial. Councilman Herrin's motion, seconded by <br />Councilman Evans to receive and file the following Variance application failed <br />to carry: <br /> <br />VA 72-45, ARNOLD B. GASSER - To construct 39 townhouse <br />units in the C 1 District at 142,6 S. Sullivan Street; APPROVED. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Evans, Villa <br />Herrin, Griset, Yamamoto, Patterson, Markel <br />None <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Herrin, with <br />Councilman Evans voting NO, the matter was set for a public hearing at the <br />next regular meeting on August 2,1. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Evans, with Council- <br />men Yamamoto and Patterson dissenting, the following Variance Application <br />was received and ordered filed: <br /> <br />VA 72,-53, STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA <br />To allow 2, canopy signs and the Standard trademark on <br />lighter boxes in service station in M 1 District at 2051 <br />E. Edinger; APPROVED. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman Villa, and <br />unanimously carried, Council ordered received and filed the following <br />application: <br /> <br />VA 72-55, JAMES N. GOODE - To permit a recently built 12' <br />x 24' office and storage building to remain in a legal non-conforming <br />wrecking yard in C Z District at 3730 W. 5th St.; APPROVED. <br /> <br />DEEDS WITH CASH On motion of Councilman Yamamoto, <br />GRANTEE, CITY seconded by Councilman Evans and <br /> unanimously carried, the following <br />deed was approved and the Mayor was authorized to sign all necessary <br />documents in connection with the purchase: <br /> <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE - For street purposes in conjunction <br />with AD 2'25; SW corner of Greenville and Edinger. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES -310- AUGUST 7, 1972 <br /> <br /> <br />
