C. AFFORDABLE HOUSING <br />1. PROGRESS IN MEETING SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES FOR PROVIDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING: <br />Table 1 provides an overview of the City's efforts to meet five -year affordable <br />housing goals. Below, is a summary of specific housing accomplishments during <br />2003 -2004 report period utilizing all available funding sources: <br />Extremely low- income renters & owner households: <br />Renters: The rehabilitation of 30 housing units occupied by extremely low- income <br />renters was completed during the report period. <br />Owners: The rehabilitation of 10 housing units occupied by extremely low- income <br />owners was completed during the report period. Additionally, two extremely low - <br />income households became first time homeowners during the report period. <br />Very low - income renters & owner households <br />Renters: Rehabilitation of 32 rental- housing units occupied by very low- income <br />tenants was completed during the report period. The SAHA also assisted 2,558 very <br />low- income Section 8 tenant households during the report period. <br />Owners: The rehabilitation of 22 very low- income owner occupied units was <br />completed during the report period. Additionally, two very low- income households <br />became first time homeowners during the report period. <br />Low - income renters & owner households: <br />Renters: Rehabilitation of 12 housing units occupied by low- income tenants was <br />completed during the report period. <br />Owners: The rehabilitation of two units occupied by low- income owners was <br />completed during the report period; one low- income first time homebuyer was <br />assisted during the report period with MCC resources. <br />Renter & owner households with incomes over 80% of area median income: <br />Renters: No housing units were assisted during the report period for renters with <br />income over 80% of the county median income. (Funding for this category of <br />renters is identified as a "Low Priority" in the 2000 — 2004 Consolidated Plan, i.e., <br />the City did not anticipate directly funding activities to address this need during the <br />five -year period.) <br />Owners: Rehabilitation of three housing units occupied by households with an <br />income over 80% of the county median income was completed during the report <br />period. Five first time homebuyers were assisted during the report period with MCC <br />resources. <br />11 <br />19E -14 <br />9/9/04 <br />
