In this capacity, the City continued to support efforts <br />to explore additional funding resources to supplement HOPWA funds and better <br />serve the needs of those living with HIV /AIDS. <br />B. PROJECT ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />1. Summary of Housing Activities — During the 2003 -2004 report period the following <br />housing accomplishments were achieved through the expenditure of HOPWA funds: <br />• 133 individuals were provided tenant based rental assistance. <br />• 798 end -stage clients received hospice services. <br />• 551 unduplicated clients were provided emergency housing /utility assistance. <br />• 78 individuals received transitional housing assistance. <br />• . 52 clients were provided medical detox -bed services. <br />• HOPWA funds were expended to support two housing projects. <br />All these "housing" activities were coupled with appropriate supportive services. <br />2. Units created via acquisition, rehab, or new construction since 1993 — Since <br />1993, the City of Santa Ana has utilized HOPWA funds to develop 68 new housing <br />units for persons living with HIV /AIDS. Additional units will be added during the next <br />report period. <br />3. Unique supportive service or other <br />unique supportive services or service <br />during the 2003 -2004 report period. <br />service delivery models or efforts — No <br />delivery models /efforts were implemented <br />4.
