<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-077 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO EXECUTE ALL <br />NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO ACCEPT AND <br />IMPLEMENT THE FY 2004-05 WEED AND SEED <br />GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The City of Santa Ana has been selected to receive a grant from <br />the United States Department of Justice, in the amount of <br />$450,000.00, for the 2004-05 funding year. <br /> <br />B. The Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act provides funds <br />for the Weed and Seed Grants Program. This is the fifth year the <br />grant funds have been allocated to the S.A.I.N.T. Program, in the <br />amount of $225,000.00 and the S.P.I.R.I.T. Program, in the amount <br />of $225,000.00. <br /> <br />C. During the 2004-2005 fiscal year, Weed and Seed Grant funding <br />will be utilized to continue to provide services in the areas of law <br />enforcement, community policing, prevention, intervention and <br />treatment, and neighborhood restoration. <br /> <br />Section 2. TheCity Council authorizes the Executive Director of the <br />Community Development Agency to execute all necessary documents to <br />implement the 2004 Weed and Seed Grant Continuation Agreement, accept <br />grant funding in the amount of $450,000.00 and appropriate $225,000.00 to the <br />S.A.I.N. T. Program and $225,000.00 to the S.P.I.R.I.T. Program. <br /> <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its <br />adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and <br />certify the vote adopting this Resolution. <br /> <br />20A-5 <br />
