(CA 131.1) <br /> <br />AUDITING FEES Council accepted as <br /> satisfactory the proposal <br /> contained in the letter <br />from Diehl, Evans and Company, dated April 13, 1973, which set <br />forth a new maximum fee of $4,7S0 for auditing services to the <br />City for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1974, on motion of <br />Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Garthe, and carried <br />on a S 1 vote, with Councilman Markel dissenting. (CA 65) <br /> <br />CIVIC CENTER COMMISSION Council considered the <br /> letter from William J. <br /> Stauffer, dated April 24, <br />1973, resigning as a member of and as President of the Orange <br />County Civic Center Commission. Councilman Griset's motion to <br />receive and file the letter of resignation expressing appreciation <br />for the job that Mr. Stauffer has done so faithfully on the Com- <br />mission, was seconded by Councilman Markel, and unanimously <br />carried on a 6 - 0 vote. (CA 77.3) <br /> <br />CIVIC CENTER <br />PROGRAM <br /> <br />desire that <br />the parking <br />seconded by <br />vote. <br /> <br /> PARKING Councilman Griset's motion <br /> to advise the Civic Center <br /> Commission of the Council's <br />the Commission undertake a comprehensive study of <br />situation in and around the Civic Center, was <br />Councilman Garthe, and unanimously carried on a 6 <br /> <br />Prior to voting, Councilman Griset stated that he felt it was <br />very important for the Civic Center Commission to have the <br />responsibility for the operation of the entire Civic Center in <br />addition to the responsibilities of development. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward stated that he was concerned about tke large <br />amount of asphalt being planned surrounding the Civic Center; <br />that he was in favor of free parking to employees; and requested <br />that the Civic Center Commission thoroughly research the aspect <br />of parking alternatives. (CA 77.5) <br /> <br />AGREEMENT In accordance with the <br />AHFP PROJECT NO. 644 approval of an earlier <br /> motion to consider the <br />agreement in conjunction with the Civic Center Parking Program, <br />Council approved Arterial Highway Financing Program Project No. <br />644 for acquisition of right of way and construction of Civic <br />Center Drive between Birch Street and Santa Ana Boulevard and <br />encouraged staff to seek the cooperation of the County to <br />develop Civic Center Drive in conformance with City standards, <br />on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Garthe, <br />and carried on a 5 1 vote, with Councilman Markel dissenting. <br />(CA A-73-23; CA 29.4a) <br /> <br />AGENDA ORDER Councilman Griset's motion <br /> to defer Agenda Item 48, <br /> namely, a request for <br />appointment to the Project Area Committee, until after the <br />scheduled Executive Session, was seconded by Councilman Ward, <br />and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />142 MAY 7, 1973 <br /> <br /> <br />
