(CA 65.3) <br /> <br />* * ~ * ~ * * * CONSENT CALENDAR FINIS <br /> <br />BID AWARD <br />SPEC. 736-104 <br /> <br />unanimously carried on a 6 0 <br />as follows on the basis of the <br />bidder: <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman <br />Griset, seconded by <br />Councilman Ward, and <br />vote, Council awarded contract <br />lowest, best and most responsible <br /> <br />SPEC. 736-104 - Comprehensive Bodily Injury, Personal <br />Injury and Property Damage Liability Insurance and <br />Excess Umbrella Liability Coverage; contract awarded <br />to Harrison, Zeppegno & Bristol, Inc., Santa Ana, <br />agents for Insurance Co. of the Pacific Coast. <br /> <br />Prior to voting, Mr. Virgil R. Howell, President of Mund, <br />McLaurin & Company, Insurance Analysts, 600 South Commonwealth <br />Avenue, Los Angeles, spoke in favor of the award, referring <br />to the contents of his letter of May 23, 1973, which set <br />forth reasons for recommending the award. <br /> <br />Mr. John Yeargin, Partner and General Manager of Tausch <br />Insurance Brokers, 2700 N. Main, the other bidder on the <br />specifications, spoke in opposition to the award, stating <br />that the company of Pacific Indemnity was superior to <br />Insurance Company of the Pacific Coast in that it was highly <br />experienced in City business; that it would remain faithful <br />to the City in the face of an adverse loss ratio; that it <br />had been the carrier for the City for five or six years and <br />that a change in companies would result in a loss of continuity <br />of claim service as well as other benefits derived from a <br />lengthy association. (CA 89 G) <br /> <br />MODIFICATION AGREEMENT <br />AND ESCROW INSTRUCTIONS <br />ST. LUKE'S M~THODIST CHURCH <br /> <br />on a 6 - 0 vote, Council approved the <br />and authorized their execution by the <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman <br />Griset, seconded by <br />Councilman Yamamoto, <br />and unanimously approved <br />following agreements <br />Mayor and Clerk: <br /> <br />Modification of Agreement between the City and St. <br />Luke's United Methodist Church for City purchase <br />of improved property known as St. Luke's United <br />Methodist Church, 2215 West McFadden.
