CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING THAT AN URGENT NECESSITY REQUIRES THAT <br />CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING <br />JULY 1, 1973 BE LET WITHOUT ADVERTISING FOR BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY YkRNAGER TO EXECUTE SUCH CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY. (CA 89G) <br /> <br />CURBLINE POSTAL After considering the report <br />BOX DELIVERY of the Planning Director <br /> dated June 20, 1973, relating <br /> to the position that the <br />City of Placentia had taken with regard to curbline postal box <br />delivery in new housing tracts; adopted the position to oppose the <br />postal service policy. The motion further instructed the Clerk to <br />convey this opposition to the appropriate legislative representa- <br />tives citing the following reasons: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Curbline rural post boxes are susceptible to <br />theft because of proximity to the street right-of- <br />way; <br /> <br />(b) Rural type curbline postal boxes will create an <br /> undesirable cluttered appearing streetscape; and <br /> <br />(c) Little real economy is to be realized in the <br /> City by the U. S. Postal Service. <br /> <br />(CA 75) <br /> <br />UNDERGROUND UTILITIES After considering the report <br /> of the Acting Museum Direc- <br /> tor dated June 20, 1973, <br /> relating to the installation <br />of underground utilities beneath the Museum Expansion; approved <br />the funding in the approximate amount of $24,000 from Revenue Sharing <br />Funds for the necessary undergrounding. (CA 134; CA 85) <br /> <br />SANTA ANA BICYCLE TRAIL After considering the report <br /> of the Director of Public <br /> Works dated June 13, 1973, <br /> relating to the construction <br />of a bicycle trail along the Santa Ana River between Pacific Coast <br />Highway and Atlanta Avenue and between Edinger Avenue and Katella <br />Avenue; approved plans and special provisions for the construction <br />of the bicycle trail.
