SERVICE STATION Council instructed the City <br />ORDINANCE Attorney to prepare and <br /> present to Council an <br /> ordinance regulating ser- <br />vice stations, subjecting them to a Conditional Use Permit pro- <br />cedure, and providing for the removal or re-opening of abandoned <br />stations prior to the issuance of permits for the erection of <br />a new station by the same distributor, on the unanimously approved <br />motion of Mayor Patterson, seconded by Councilman Ward. (CA 78) <br /> <br />TAXI ORDINANCE The City Attorney was <br /> instructed to prepare and <br /> present to Council, as <br /> soon as possible, the <br />revision of the taxi ordinance, on the unanimously approved <br />motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans. (CA 26) <br /> <br />UNDERGROUND UTILITIES WAIVER Council considered a <br />THEO LACY written request from Theo <br /> Lacy, Attorney, 1204 North <br /> Ross Street, appealing <br />the Planning Commission denial of a waiver of the underground <br />utilities requirement for property located at 1204 North Ross <br />Street. Following discussion, and acting on the request of the <br />applicant, the matter was continued to the next meeting, on <br />motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Ward and <br />carried, with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting. (CA 134) <br /> <br />APPLICATION TO USE The application to use <br />PUBLIC PROPERTY public property, dated <br /> July 2, filed by Mrs. <br /> Arnold S. Petersen, 2802 <br />North Waverly Street, was unanimously approved on motion of <br />Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Markel, subject to <br />all applicable administrative and Municipal Code provisions. <br />The applicant requested use of the cul de sac street area at <br />the end of Waverly Street on July 4, from 4:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. <br />for a barbeque and fireworks display for ten families who live <br />on the cul de sac. (CA 45.1) <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Councilman Markel spoke <br />INDUSTRIAL ZONE against commercial <br /> development in the <br /> Industrial Zone and <br />requested Chamber of Commerce support of his position. Council- <br />men Ward and Garthe concurred with Councilman Markel.
