<br />Iss 11/9/2004 <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2004-085 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE <br />STATE URBAN PARKS AND HEALTHY COMMUNITIES PROGRAM <br />UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, <br />SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL PROTECTION <br />ACT OF 2002 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The people of the State of California have enacted the California Clean <br />Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and Coastal Protection Act of 2002, which <br />provides funds to the State of California for grants to eligible applicants; and <br /> <br />B. The State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities Program has been <br />established under the Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and Coastal <br />Protection Act of 2002, to provide grant funds to develop neighborhood, community and <br />regional parks and recreation areas. <br /> <br />C. The California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated <br />responsibility for the administration of the State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities <br />Program, setting up necessary procedures governing project application under the <br />program; and <br /> <br />D. Said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and <br />Recreation, require the City Council to certify by resolution the approval of the <br />Application before submission of said Application to the State; and <br /> <br />E. <br />Project. <br /> <br />The City will enter into a Contract with the State of California for the <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council approves the filing of an application for $900,000 <br />in local assistance funds from the State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities <br />Program under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and <br /> <br />21 B-2 <br />
