ENFORCEMENT OF CONSUMER <br />PROTECTION LAWS <br /> <br />ing to City participation <br />tion Laws. <br /> <br /> Council considered the <br /> interim report of the <br /> City Attorney dated <br /> September 11, 1973, relat- <br />in the enforcement of Consumer Protec- <br /> <br />Councilman Evans' motion, seconded by Mayor Patterson, to adopt <br />the policy that the City Attorney shall pursue such investigative <br />procedures and civil remedies as are in his judgment necessary <br />and appropriate to secure the enforcement of California Business <br />and Professions Code, Division 7, Part 3, Chapter 1, pertaining <br />to false and misleading advertising practices within the City, <br />failed to carry on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Evans, Patterson, Yamamoto <br /> <br />NOES: Markel, Garthe, Ward, Griset <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />The consensus of the dissenting Councilmen was that City partici- <br />pation would be a duplication of services offered by the County <br />of Orange. (CA 151.2) <br /> <br />SANDBLASTING STUDY Council considered the <br /> report of the Director of <br /> Building Safety dated <br /> September 12, 1973 relating to <br />the establishment of additional regulations to cover sandblasting <br />operations within the City. <br /> <br />The report was received and filed, and the matter was removed from <br />the Council Referral List (No. 53) on motion of Councilman Griset, <br />seconded by Councilman Evans, and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The report recommended that no additional regulations be <br />established unless experience in the future indicated that <br />current regulations were inadequate. (CA 87) <br /> <br />MUNICIPAL STADIUM USE Consideration of the letter <br /> from Glen Evans, Chairman <br /> of the Board of Recreation <br /> and Parks, dated September 11, <br />1973, was deferred to October 1, 1973, to allow for additional <br />input and discussion by staff and the Board of Recreation and <br />Parks, on motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Evans, <br />and unanimously carried. (CA 52.8) <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF COUNCIL Council considered the <br />REFERRALS report of the City Manager <br />STUDY SESSION SET dated September 13, 1973, <br /> giving the status of each <br />item contained in the Summary of Council Referrals dated Septem- <br />ber 4, 1973.
