ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Garthe stated <br />J. WILLARD BASSETT that he had a number of <br />MEMORIAL MUSICAL tickets for a memorial <br /> musical "Barber of <br />Seville" to be held on October 12, 1973, at Melodyland, in <br />memory of J. Willard Bassett, who had lost his life in a freeway <br />accident; that Mr. Basset had brought considerable musical cul- <br />ture to Southern California through his talents as a teacher <br />and singer. <br /> <br />Councilman Garthe's motion to direct the Clerk to prepare a <br />resolution proclaiming October 12th "J. Willard Bassett Day", <br />and that the Mayor present the resolution to Mrs. J. Willard <br />Bassett on the occasion of the musical on October 12, 1975, <br />was seconded by Mayor Patterson, and unanimously carried. <br />(CA 73 B) <br /> <br />ADJOURNM~ENT The meeting was adjourned <br /> at 8:43 P.M. to October <br /> 15, 1973, at 12:00 Noon <br /> in Room 147 adjacent to <br />the Council Chambers, on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded <br />by Councilman Evans, and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Florence I.
