<br />. . <br />. <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />The Contractor shall install temporary traffic striping, where needed, in any unstriped lanes <br />opened to traffic. <br /> <br />All street closures and signs' used for handling traffic during construction shall be in <br />accordance with the "work Area Traffic Control Handbook" (WATCH) published by <br />Building News, Inc., which shall be considered a part of these Special Provision. The <br />method in which signs, barriers, and other miscellaneous traffic devices are used during <br />construction shall be in accordance with the publication mentioned above, except only <br />standard size signs shall be used on arterial streets. <br /> <br />All signs shall be illuminated or reflectorized when they are used during hours of darkness. <br />All cones, pylons, barricades, or posts used in the diversion of traffic during working hours <br />shall be provided with flashers or other satisfactory illumination. <br /> <br />All signing, barricading and diversion of traffic shall be subject to the approval of the <br />Engineer. The Contractor shall provide a telephone number at which the Contractor' <br />representatives can be reached should an emergency occur requiring replacement or <br />relocation ofthe required traffic devices. <br /> <br />Prior to the start of construction operations, the Contractor shall notify the Police and Fire <br />Departments of the AGENCY, giving the approximate starting date, completion date, and <br />the name and telephone number of responsible persons who may be contacted at any hour in <br />the event of a critical condition. <br /> <br />1.17 <br /> <br />LIABILITY INSURANCE & ADDITIONAL INSURED ENDORSEMENT <br /> <br />This Section shall conform to Subsection 7-3 of the Standard Specifications and these <br />Special Provisions. <br /> <br />The certificate of liability insurance and the City's Additional Insured Endorsement (AlE) <br />form shall be provided by the successful bidder within ten (10) days (not including <br />Saturdays, Sundays) after the successful bidder has received notice that the contract has <br />been awarded. <br /> <br />Failure to provide acceptable certificate of liability insurance and AlE form as provided <br />herein within ten (10) days (not including Saturdays and Sundays), after the successful <br />bidder has received notice that the contract has been awarded, shall be just cause for the <br />annulment of the award and the forfeiture of the proposal guaranty. <br /> <br />6 <br />
