<br />" . <br />. <br /> <br />1.18 <br /> <br />PROGRESS OF WORKIP A YMENTS <br /> <br />The Contractor shall be provided grid maps ofthe City. Each grid shall have a list of its <br />intersections, whose crosswalks, legends, and other related markings shall be renewed. The <br />contractor shall complete the work in each grid before moving to the next grid. The <br />contractor shall initial and date the grid list and submit it with his invoice to the City. The <br />City shall use this list to verify that the work has been completed prior to processing the <br />payment. <br /> <br />2.00 <br /> <br />SPECIAL PROVISIONS - ROADWAY MARKINGS <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />2.01 <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />This section shall confonn to the City of Santa Ana Standard Plans, provisions in Section 84 <br />of the latest Caltrans Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. <br /> <br />The work to be done consists, in general, of installation or renewal of RPM's stripes, <br />pavement markings and curb markings as described below. Items or details not specifically <br />mentioned in the following Sub-Sections that are required in the applicable State of <br />California Standard Specifications or these Special Provisions shall be performed or <br />installed. <br /> <br />All traffic stripes and pavement markings, including legends, and curb painting shall be with <br />water-based paint, unless otherwise noted by the Engineer. <br /> <br />All curb markings and median island markings shall be painted using EP A compliant paint <br />material. Paint shall be fast or rapid dry, water-borne type of similar or approved equal to <br />that manufactured by TMT-Pathway [White Traffic Paint (2600 A.9), Yellow Traffic Paint <br />(2601 A.9), Red Traffic Paint (2574 A.9), and Black Traffic Paint (2677 A.9)]. All traffic <br />paint shall meet all requirements of South Coast Air Quality Management District. All <br />striping and legend work shall be applied at a rate of 15 mils wet or a rate of 175' per gallon <br />of paint. <br /> <br />All lines shall be clean and sharp as to dimensions. Ragged edges of segments, fogginess <br />along the sides or objectionable dribbling along the unpainted portions of the strip shall be <br />removed by wet sandblasting to the satisfaction of the City. Alternate methods of paint <br />removal require prior approval of the City Traffic Engineer. <br /> <br />The finished paint product will present an opaque, well painted even appearance with no <br />visible discoloration. During application existing lines are to be followed in such a manner <br />as to display a uniform, pleasing appearance. Misalignment or disregard to previous <br />painting pattern is unacceptable and will not be pennitted. The Traffic Engineer shall be the <br />sole judge on accuracy and acceptability of the work. <br /> <br />7 <br />
