and Labor Union (Local 652) resulting from rental of the Union <br />Hall for private dances, was continued to the next Council <br />meeting, February 25, 1974, at the request of Mr. Dan Conway, <br />Manager of the Mobile Home Park, pending an additional progress <br />report. (CA 127) <br /> <br />CIVIC CENTER COMMISSION Council approved the <br /> Civic Center Commission <br /> proposed duties and <br /> responsibilities and <br />authorized their transmittal to the Board of Supervisors and <br />to the Civic Center Authority for its consideration, and <br />approval, on motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman <br />Garthe, and unanimously carried. (CA 77.3) <br /> <br />VEHICLE PARKING Following consideration of <br />DISTRICT NO. 1 the report from the City <br /> Attorney dated January 17, <br /> 1974, relating to the <br />Board of Commissioners Parking District Number 1, Council <br />instructed the Attorney to prepare an ordinance naming the <br />Community Redevelopment Agency as the Board of Commissioners, <br />on motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward, <br />and unanimously carried. The matter had been referred to staff <br />on January 7, 1974. (CA 17a) <br /> <br />PRIVATE PARKING LOTS Council acted to receive and <br /> file the staff report <br /> dated January 29, 1974, <br /> regarding enforcement <br />of red curb on private parking lots, on motion of Councilman <br />Evans, seconded by Councilman Griset, and unanimously carried. <br />(CA 18.7; CA 82.8) <br /> <br />PROPERTY MAINTENANCE Acting on the recommendation <br />INSPECTION PROGRAM of the Director of Building <br /> Safety set forth in his <br /> report dated January 30, 1974, <br />regarding a proposed Property Maintenance inspection program, <br />on the unanimously approved motion of Councilman Evans, seconded <br />by Councilman Griset, Council: 1) Approved the program in <br />principle with a target effective date of July 1, 1974; 2) <br />Authorized submittal of the program to the Redevelopment Com- <br />mission, Human Relations Commission and Planning Commission for <br />review and comment; and 3) Authorized continued exploration of <br />alternative methods of funding. (CA 8?) <br /> <br />SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER Council considered the <br /> City Manager's report <br /> dated January 31, 1974, <br /> summarizing the progress <br />of the Senior Citizens Service Center Project. The matter <br />was referred to staff for a report on the proposed site for <br />the Center and possible alternative locations, on the unanimously <br />approved motion of Councilman Garthe, seconded by Councilman <br />Ward. Councilman Evans requested that the report include <br />comments in general as to why the city-owned property adjacent <br />to the Municipal Bowl had not been selected as an appropriate <br />site.
