CITY OF SANA ANA <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />Scope of Work <br />Annual Accomplishment Goal <br />Total number of clients anticipated to serve during the 12-month contract period= 200 <br />PERSONS <br />IL Total number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the <br />12-month contract period= 200 PERSONS 100% Santa Ana clients <br />III. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12- <br />month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client <br />characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. <br />Description of oro<=ram to be funded: <br />The Human Options Outreach Program provides bilingual domestic violence education, information/ referrals, and <br />counseling services to Santa Ana residents and families suffering from domestic violence. The Community <br />Development Block Grant will fund the Hands are Not for Hitting presentations, a teen boys domestic violence <br />group, individual and family counseling, and legal assistance. A Master's level counselor with experience in <br />domestic violence will provide all services. <br />Services to be provided- <br />Connnunity Education: <br />Hands Are Not for Hitting Presentations: This community education program teaches elementary school children <br />and youth nonviolent communication tools, anger management skills and tools to deal with bullying and peer <br />pressure. The program is performed with puppets for the school aged children and uses role-play and interactive <br />dialogue for the older children and youth. <br />1. The counselor will give a minimum of (10) presentations. <br />Ii. The curriculum will be presented in local schools, P.E.P childcare facilities (if (8) or more children <br />are present), and other community groups. <br />Therapeutic Counseling: <br />Teen Boys Danestic Violence Group: The group is a 10-week psycho -educational support group for boys between <br />the ages of 12-17 years old living in Santa Ana. The group will help teen boys develop healthy relationship by <br />discussing topics such as domestic violence, anger management, communication skills, and teen pressures. <br />I. The counselor will facilitate a weekly domestic violence boys teen group at the Corbin Family <br />Resource Center. <br />II. A minimum of boys will attend the teen group. <br />Individual and Frnnlly Corrnveling: <br />1. Counseling will be focus on providing services to children and youth that have been affected by <br />domestic violence in English and Spanish. <br />11, Counseling will be provided to adults and families affected by domestic violence in English and <br />Spanish. <br />Legal 4s.ustance: <br />I. Counselor participates in Santa Ana Court Domestic Violence Team. <br />11, Counselor provided referrals to Human Options legal advocate for assistance. <br />proeram noals� <br />The aoal of the Outreach program is to help battered victims, their children and the community of Santa Ana break <br />the cycle of domestic violence through education, counseling, and legal assistance. <br />
