SERVICE STATIONS The report dated March <br /> 7, 1974, prepared by <br /> the Planning Director, <br /> in response to a request <br />by Council at its August 20, 1973, meeting for a service <br />station study and preparation of an ordinance for abatement <br />of abandoned stations and some development and operational <br />control, was considered. The Planning Director reported that <br />the Planning Commission had adopted Resolution No. 6047, <br />recommending Council adoption of the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />A public hearing by the Council on the proposed ordinance <br />was set for April iS, 1974, and the Clerk was instructed to <br />publish and mail notices to interested persons, on the <br />unanimously approved motion of Councilman Evans, seconded <br />by Councilman Yamamoto. (CA 78) <br /> <br />GERALD CARR DAY A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />RESOLUTION 74-38 CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> COMMENDING ASTRONAUT <br />GERALD P. CARR was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman <br />Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans. <br /> <br />Acting on the written request of the Mayor dated March 7, 1974, <br />Council unanimously approved the Gerald Carr Day program plans <br />and Appropriation Adjustment Request No. 43 for $3,000.00, <br />on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans. <br />(CA 151) <br /> <br />ORANGE COUNTY The proposed Orange <br />CITIES' POLICY County Cities' Policy <br />ON CLEAN AIR on Clean Air was adopted <br /> and the staff was <br />instructed to forward copies to all the Orange County cities <br />and the Secretary of the Orange County League of Cities with <br />the request that their Councils, and the League, take <br />similar action on the proposal, on the unanimously approved <br />motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans. <br />(CA 145.6) <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Yamamoto's <br />NORMAN CORBIN request that the Mayor <br />HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSIONER be instructed to prepare <br /> an appropriate letter <br />to Mr. Norman Corbin, Human Relations Commissioner, expressing <br />Council's sympathy and concern for his bereavement in the <br />death of his mother and other serious illness suffered by <br />him and his family, was unanimously approved on motion of <br />Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Griset. (CA 131.2) <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Mayor Patterson <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT requested that at <br />REIMBURSEMENT its next meeting Council <br /> review the City policy <br />on street improvement reimbursement as it pertains to improve- <br />ment of MacArthur Boulevard between Bear Street and Plaza <br />Drive, by the Segerstrom Family, in reliance upon the City's <br />previous policy of reimbursement for improvements. <br /> <br />Council scheduled the matter for review and determination at <br />its meeting of March 18, 1974 on the unanimously approved <br />motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Councilman Garthe. <br />(CA 29.4) <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />91 MARCH 11, 1974 <br /> <br /> <br />
