VEHICLES FOR HIRE, DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF AND PROVIDING <br />FOR IMMEDIATE EFFECT was adopted as an emergency~ordinance and <br />was passed to socond reading on motion of Councilman Evans, <br />seconded by Councilman Griset, and unanimously carried. <br />(CA ~6; CA 74) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. ?4-49 A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />DEDICATION AND IMPROVEMENT CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />JUNIPER AVENUE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> DEFERRIN6 REQUIREMENT <br />OF DEDICATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE SOUTH ONE-HALF OF JUNIPER <br />AVENUE BETWEEN HARBOR BOULEVARD AND THE SOUTHERN PACI{~C <br />RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY~ was continued to tho next ~eeting at <br />the request of the AMF-Voit Corp. on motion of Councilman Evans, <br />seconded by Councilman Griset, and unanimously carried. <br /> (CA 29.4) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 74-52 A RESOLUTION DF THE <br />CONDEMNATION - FIRST STREET CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION 72-53 C~T~ OF SANTA ANA <br /> AUTHORtZIN6 CONDEMNATION <br />OF REAL PROPERTY FOR STREET WIDENIN6 AND i~MPROVEMENT OF FIRST <br />STREET, AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. ?2-55 PASSED BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL MAY 1, 1972 was continued to the next meeting ~May 6~ <br />on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans, <br />and carried with Councilmen Yamamoto and Markel~ and Mayor <br />Patterson dissenting. <br /> <br />The following people addressed Council in opposition to <br />a total take of Mr. Keller's property ~ituated at tko <br />southwest corner of First and Lyon St~eets]: <br /> <br />Mr. D. J. Keller, 1031 West 20th Street; <br />Mr. Earnest Andrew Meredith~ 12757 Barrett Lane; <br />Mr. Joe Gilmaker, 308 West 4th Street. <br /> <br />Councilman Griset moved that Council express its intent to <br />arrive at.an agreement with Mr. Keller on the Basis of a <br />partial take, the price of which has alreadx Been determined <br />and understood by both the City and Mr, Keller, including <br />the elimination of the building known as the "liquor store" <br />at the corner of Lyon and First Street; a 25.foot radius <br />at the corner; one opening to the property from First Street, <br />precluding any on Lyon Street; the inclusien~of some kind of <br />landscaping along First Street, which w~uld make tko front <br />more acceptable under the circumstances; and conformance <br />to all Building and City codes without necessity, of variances. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Evans and carried, with <br />dissenting votes by Councilmen Yamamoto and M~rkel, and ~ayor <br />Patterson. <br /> <br />Councilman Griset moved that the matter Be referred to staff <br />to draft an agreement with Mr. Keller for inclusion on the <br />agenda for the next meeting [May 6). The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Ward, and carried with dissenting vote hy <br />Councilman Yamamoto.
