NO. 04-131) <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to West Coast Pools for fountain maintenance services <br />for a two-year period, with provision for three one-year renewals in an <br />annual amount not to exceed $23,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency is responsible for <br />the maintenance of the fountains located at the Civic Center Complex <br />and Sasscer Park. The contract will provide for the cleaning, <br />servicing and maintenance of the fountains, thereby improving their <br />appearance and sustaining clean, safe, attractive areas. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on October 15 and 18, 2004, and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids <br />received is as follows: <br /> <br />20 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />6 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />4 Bids Received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received, opened on October 28, 2004, and evaluated (Exhibit <br />1).
