RESOLUTION NO. 74-125 The following resolution <br />AGREEMENT WITH URBAN was adopted on motion of <br />FUTURES, INC. Councilman Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Ward, and <br />carried (4-1), with dissenting vote by Councilman Markel: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION N0.74-125 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AN <br />AGREEMENT FOR HOUSING ELEMENT STUDIES WITH URBAN <br />FUTURES, INC. <br /> <br />(A-74-53) <br /> <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA The letter dated July 30, <br />EMBLEM USE 1974, from the Chairman <br /> of the City of Santa Ana <br /> Golf Championship request- <br />ing use of City Emblem to provide proper publicity for golf <br />tournaments was received by Council. Council authorized the <br />Mayor to submit a letter to accompany golf tournament corres- <br />pondence on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman <br />Yamamoto, and carried (4-1), with dissenting vote by Councilman <br />Markel. (CA 80.12) <br /> <br />SPURGEON INTERMEDIATE The letter dated July 12, <br />SCHOOL WALKWAYS 1974, from the Assistant <br /> to the Superintendent, <br /> Santa Aha Unified School <br />District, requesting additional walkways, curbs, and sidewalks <br />for Spurgeon Intermediate School at Fifth and Fairview Streets <br />was considered by Council, together with the report dated July <br />30, 1974, from the Director of Public Works on the same subject. <br /> <br />Councilman Griset's motion, seconded by Mayor Patterson, to <br />authorize the installation of temporary asphalt sidewalks, using <br />Council Contingency Funds, failed on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Griset, Patterson <br /> <br />NOES: Markel, Yamamoto, Ward <br /> <br />ABSENT: Garthe, Evans <br /> <br />Council authorized the installation of temporary asphalt sidewalks, <br />using Council Contingency Funds and instruct Staff to discuss the <br />possibility of the School District sharing in the installation cost, <br />on motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Markel, and <br />carried (4-1) with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward's motion, to establish a policy of creation of <br />Assessment Districts for sidewalk installation throughout the City, <br />seconded by Councilman Griset, was continued for discussion by the <br />full Council, on the unanimously approved motion (5-0) of Council- <br />man Ward, seconded by Councilman Griset. <br /> <br />Council further instructed Staff to prepare a report regarding the <br />timing and listing priority areas for an Assessment District side- <br />walk improvement program, on the unanimously approved (5-0) <br />motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Griset.
