(AHFP Agreement; CA 29.4a) <br /> <br />TEACHER ORIENTATION The Report dated <br />PROGRAM - SEPTEMBER 3, 1974 July 30, 1974, from <br /> the Public Information <br /> Officer pertaining to <br />Teacher Orientation Program on September 3, 1974, was <br />considered by Council. <br /> <br />Council approved the program as submitted and authorized <br />payment of half the luncheon cost on motion of Councilman <br />Griset, seqonded by Councilman Ward, and carried (4-1), with <br />Councilman Markel dissenting. (CA 151) <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Mrs. Janice Boer, <br />SANTA ANA NEWS STORY 911 North Lowell, <br /> stated that in funding <br /> the Santa Ana News <br />Story, the City is illegally using tax money to u~d-~ree <br />enterprise, private newspaper; that the evidence is in the <br />hands of the proper person; and that a lawsuit will be filed. <br /> <br />She further stated that the News Story was never put out for <br />bid; that it is partly writt~y the Santa Ana Gazette staff <br />and partly by the City Manager's staff; that the writing is <br />co-mingled as well as the funding; that both the Gazette <br />and the News Story are delivered in one common plastz~ag; <br />and that it would not be possible for the Gazette to be <br />published except for the Council's funding o~ News <br />Story. <br /> <br />She requested Council to discontinue the News Story publica- <br />tion, which makes possible the Santa Ana Gazette by the <br />next Council meeting or appropriate action wo--~ be taken. <br />(CA 15Z.4) <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />consent. <br /> <br />At 5:17 P.M., Council <br />recessed for dinner <br />at the Ancient Mariner <br />by unanimous general <br /> <br />INVOCATION Council reconvened at <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 7:43 P.M.
