ORAL REPORT Police Chief Davis TRAFFIC CONTROL GRANT presented a brief oral report concerning the approval by the State of City's application for Traffic Control Grant in the amount of $120,443. The grant will provide the City with a Traffic Accident Control Program, which will consist of four motorcycle officers, four motorcycles, and operation costs in the first year. It is anticipated that it will also provide 50% of operational costs in the second year, and 25% in the third year. A related grant in the amount of $10,000 was also approved, which will pay expenses to send a Police officer to North- western Traffic Institute in Illinois for nine months. Council approved acceptance of the grants by informal consent. (CA 47.7) TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY Council unanimously COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS appointed Harlan HARLAN ANDERSON Anderson and Gary GARY TUCKER Tucker to the Trans- portation Advisory Committee to complete the unexpired terms of Betty Nickel and Alonzo Moore, respectively, on motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto. (CA 29.10a) HUMAN RELATIONS The motion of Council- COMMISSION APPOINTMENT man Ward to appoint ROSEMARIE MANWARING Rosemarie Manwaring to the Human Relations Commission to replace Anthony Dabbs, was seconded by Council- man Yamamoto, and carried unanimously. (CA 131.2) ADJOURNMENT At 9:55 P.M., the meeting was adjourned to August 26, 1974, at 4:00 P.M. in Room 514 of City Hall, for a joint study session with the Human Relations Commission, on the unanimously carried motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans.
