BID AWARD Council considered <br />SPEC. 74-013 SPEC. 74-013 for one <br />PANEL TRUCK 1974 Panel Delivery <br /> Truck, and awarded <br />contract to Guaranty Chevrolet, Santa Aha, on the basis of <br />lowest, best and most responsible bidder for the 1975 Panel <br />Delivery Truck (not the 1974 Truck specified), on motion of <br />Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward, and carried, <br />with dissenting votes by Councilmen Yamamoto and Garthe. <br /> <br />The motion followed a discussion on the pros and cons of <br />purchasing a vehicle requiring unleaded gasoline vs leaded <br />gasoline. Councilman Ward stated that Council needs to <br />show some leadership in pollution control. Mayor Patterson <br />suggested that unleaded gasoline be purchased from a local <br />gas station until one of the City's tanks has been converted <br />for unleaded gasoline storage. Councilman Griset requested <br />a report on low-lead vs no-lead gas. (CA 89; CA 145.6) <br /> <br />AGENDA ORDER The full reading of <br />RESOLUTION NO. 74-155 Resolution No. 74-155, <br />RETARDED CHILDREN the title of which <br />COMMEMORATIVE DAY appeared on the public <br /> Agenda, was waived on <br />the unanimously approved motion of Councilman Evans, seconded <br />by Councilman Ward, and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The following resolution was adopted on motion Of Councilman <br />Griset, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, and unanimously <br />carried: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 74-155 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA PROCLAIMING <br />"RETARDED CHILDREN CAN BE HELPED COMMEMORATIVE <br />DAY" <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Stein, Executive Director for the Orange County <br />Association for Retarded Citizens, and Mr. Hector Godinez, <br />Postmaster, presented a first sheet of commemorative stamps <br />to the Mayor on behalf of the Orange County Association for <br />Retarded Citizens.
