KaBoom is an organization <br />that builds community partnerships for the purpose of constructing safe and <br />accessible playgrounds, and is in the process of securing a funding partner <br />for the playground. KaBoom is requesting City approval of an agreement to <br />construct a playground at Santa Anita Park. <br /> <br />The Santa Anita Neighborhood will involve children in the planning process of <br />the new playground and will provide volunteers for this proj ect. KaBoom, <br />through a corporate partner, will provide funding in the amount of $47,000 <br />and additional volunteers to construct the playground. KaBoom will provide <br />staff to assist in community organization, community fund raising, and <br />community participation in the design and installation of the playground. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />A match of $10,000 is required for this <br />available in the California State Park <br />Buildings account (account 169-270-6631). <br /> <br />program.
