SWEARING IN CEREMONY Councilman Gordon <br />COUNCILMAN GORDON BRICKEN Bricken ceremoniously <br /> took the Oath of Office <br /> and was duly sworn in <br />as a member of the City Council by Clerk of the Council, <br />Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />The new Councilman Bricken accepted the office and dedicated <br />himself to listen to everyone who has something to say in <br />chambers or outside chambers; to think carefully as he can <br />and to speak and act the truth as he sees it. He introduced <br />his wife, Maureen, and his four young daughters, Barbara, <br />Mary, Patricia and Victoria. CA 80 <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS Mayor Evans announced <br />CERTIFICATES OF that Certificates of <br />APPRECIATION Appreciation were to <br /> be awarded to Harlan <br />D. Anderson, former member of the Transportation Advisory <br />Committee; Lynda Ferris, former Chairwoman ef the Manta Ana <br />Greenbelt Committee; and Morry Lindros, former member of the <br />Community Redevelopment Project Area Committee. CA 2R. 10a <br /> CA 14S.la <br /> CA 82.3 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Mr. Jim Faulkner of <br />UPTOWN LIONS CLUB the Uptown Lions Club <br /> informed the Council <br /> and the guests that <br />the Lions International is the largest service club in the <br />world; that the Uptown Lions Club has been in existence for <br />about 24 years, and is composed of between 40 and 50 members <br />for the purpose of promoting and bringing the civic, indus- <br />trial, professional and business men together to prom®re <br />peace and understanding in the world. The Uptown Lions held <br />an antique swap meet raising $4,000 given to Services for <br />the Blind; the White Cane Drive raising $1,000; and they, <br />sponsor the Junior Olympics every year to promote the health <br />of the youth of our City. <br /> <br />Mayor Evans presented a City Seal Tile plaque to the organiza- <br />tion in recognition of outstanding service te the community-. <br /> CA 9.3 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br />JAYCEES WEEK <br /> <br />urged all citizens to participate <br />of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. <br />presented by Mayor Evans to <br />Santa Ana Jaycees. <br /> <br /> Mayor Evans proclaimed <br /> the week of ~anuary 19 <br /> through January 25 as <br /> "Jaycees Week", and <br /> in any and all activities <br />The proclamation was <br />Rick Martin and Don Hagge of the <br /> CA 46 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 13 JANUARY 6, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
